Study of the Spinal Column Thru Awareness of the Energy Body

The Energy Body / The Nadi & The Chakra  I  Feb. 25, 2:30 - 3:30pm ET

The chakra align with the spine, the nadi dance around & run through the spine. This system is a beautiful, artistic way to comprehend the nature of your existence. 

Enjoy classical teachings of the energy body through Asana, Mantra, Pranayama + Meditation from the lens of the 7 Chakra, 3 Nadi & the spine. 

Expect an interactive & experiential lecture covering the 3 main energy channels (aka nadi); through embodiment, listening and visualization. Study the 7 energy vortexes (known as chackra); through movement and asana (yoga pose), breath, chanting, observation & contemplation, as well as mudra (hand gesture).

You will need: an open mind, a mat, 2 blankets, 2 bolsters or pillows, 1 eye pillow/mini-towel  + a candle.


This workshop will be recorded. The recording will made available for 60 days, only to those who register in advance. 

Natalia Rodriguez Arango is a Colombian Yoga Teacher (1000+ hr ) & Holistic Health Coach. Her passion for learning and sharing drives her ongoing devotion to human psyche, movement and anatomy studies. 

Natalia leads classes (Yoga Nidra, Meditation, Restorative and Vinyasa), as well as workshops, teacher trainings & mentorships (offering in-depth lectures on the energy body, respiration and human anatomy) both in person and digitally, world wide. The root of her teachings is classical Yoga, with a dash of modern world posture, breath & meditation. Natalia invites the student to pause, honor their body & attune to the inner wisdom. She affirms that daily, intentional practice trains the mind, body & spirit to higher levels of consciousness and personal potential. The mood and theme of each class is a reflection and integration of her spiritual, fun, creative personality. A blend of elements: movement analysis, breath awareness, meditation & healing vibrational sounds, empower the body and enable the mind to be present and focused while receiving the therapeutic benefits during practice.

Intro to Scoliosis (part 1) & Asana for Scoliosis (part 2)

Learn the basics of scoliosis and how to meaningfully practice yoga asana

with spinal asymmetry.

 

Part 1 - Intro to Scoliosis & Asana  I  Mon. Mar. 4, 11am-2pm EST

This is an overview of scoliosis and basic principles of asana practice. It includes an overview of the types of scoliosis, the four most common curves, how to identify, name and talk about curves, as well as basic principles for living and practicing yoga with scoliosis. 

You'll need: 2 washcloths (or something similar), 2 yoga straps or belts with a buckle, a yoga bolster, a chair without wheels, 2 yoga blocks and 1 blanket. 

Part 2 - Modifying Asana for Scoliosis  I  Mon. Mar. 18, 11am-2pm EST

Will go into detail about how to modify different types of poses. And put key principles into the context of asana in practice, examining how to modify for scoliosis in each type of yoga asana. This workshop looks at how to prevent the progression of scoliosis and creates awareness to normalize the asymmetries that are present in everyone. We'll approach the uniqueness of each human body through the eyes of the heart.

You'll need: the same items listed above, for part 1. 

Part 1 is a prerequisite for Part 2.

Lauren Hemley is a yogi and seeker, a transformational life coach, a yoga teacher, a teacher of teachers and a moon circle facilitator. 

Lauren leads group and private yoga classes (prenatal, vinyasa & restorative) and leads 200-hour teacher trainings. She also inspires other teachers with her signature Live Your Yoga 13-Week Transformational Journey; premised in the study of Yama & Niyama. 

She seeks to create a safe and nurturing space for people to feel open to express and heal. Movement and breath are integrated in class in order to open the heart and connect to the deeper wisdom of the soul. Lauren also holds a Masters degree in Public Health Nutrition from NYU.
